IndiGo Airlines, one of the leading low cost airlines in India have started its service on 4th August 2006 and continuing in giving new surprises in every few days with its growth. Everyone can feel it. This is not just the growth of IndiGo Airlines, but it's the growth of complete Indian aviation sector. In 2005 Paris air show IndiGo ordered 100 Airbus A320 and the complete deals was worth US $6billion, just shocking!
This was the one of highest deal by any domestic airlines in the world. So you can imagine the future plans of IndiGo airlines in India. Currently its fleet size is just 14 and 84 more in queue. But are they looking for just domestic sector with there 100 aircrafts?
Obviously they are looking for international market also and want to be major budget airline service provider of India. Second thing when they started there service on august 2006 at that time they have less than 10 aircrafts. Can't figure out the exact numbers but may be 6 or 7, offering service to 12 destinations and now it is 16 destination with there 14 aircrafts. Recently they have started there service for Bhubaneshwar in the month of October 2007 and connecting it from Bangalore, Delhi, and Hyderabad. The cost is also very cheap; they are offering air tickets for Hyderabad to Bhubneswar in just Rs.500 (Taxes Extra). So more options for air travelers of Bhubaneswar.
Keep watching the growth and fights of low cost airlines in India; ultimately it will give profit to every customer who wants to fly at low cost and also thinking to leave the traditional time taking service of Indian Railways with almost same price.
